Election Candidate in the Cotswolds
Andy believes believes in the political principle of 'Country First, Party Second' -and that elected politicians should put the long-term interests of their electors ahead of the short-term interests of their sponsoring political parties.
Andy also believes in history's ability to predict the future. History has shown that the motivations, skills and competency of politicians will change over time - as will the effectiveness of specific political parties.
As a result, Andy believes the choice of a political party should be made by balancing the combination of each party's core values with a judgement on which party is likely to deliver the most appropriate improvements to the country during their 4 year parliamentary term.
Which party does Andy support?
Whilst Andy agrees with many of the election pledges of the four largest political parties, in many cases he does not agree with the methods proposed to achieve these pledges.
When considering the core values of these four political parties, the only one that has enough alignment with his personal core values, is the Labour Party. This is why Andy is a member of the Labour Party and runs for election in support of the Labour party.
